about when the food refuses
to enter your mouth
like two magnets with the same charge:
it takes your voice.
and every step you take
is like walking on knives
as well as every word you say
you are always exhausted
and everything hurts.
when you try to sing it comes out hoarse
and off key because the emptiness
has made your throat angry
and you don’t know how to fill it up
when this body has ceased to be your own"
